Everything you need to know before your first session at Skywood Clay Atelier.
How long does each sculpting class last?
Our core sessions run 2.5 hours. Beginners start with guided technique work while advanced students explore open studio time.
What clay and tools are provided?
We supply premium stoneware, porcelain, and earthenware plus all essential tools. You may bring personal ribs or stamps if preferred.
How many pieces can I make per term?
Students may fire up to eight pieces each 8-week term. Additional work is welcome for studio practice but must be picked up unfired.
Do I need prior experience?
Absolutely not. Our Introduction to Clay course is designed for complete beginners. Returning students receive advanced prompts and critiques.
What is your cancellation policy?
Full refund if cancelled 14+ days before your start date. 50% refund within 7 days. No refunds after the first class begins.
How long does the firing process take?
Bisque firing takes three days; glaze firing requires seven to ten days total. Pieces are ready for collection once notified by email.
Can children attend classes?
We offer parent-and-child workshops on Saturday mornings and teen programs for ages 13–17. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Is there parking and accessibility?
Studio lot parking is free. The building has ramp access, wide doorways, and accessible restrooms. Contact us for any specific needs.
